~ Flemish Market Woman's Gown ~
m

The idea to this gown is found on the internet and pages made of Drea Leed (http://costume.dm.net/wardrobe/flemish.html)

I liked the stile on the costume, and as I needed a Renaissance costume that I could work in, this was the perfect stile. I decided to make my dress in dark blue, red and yellow.

The gown is very comfortable and I like it very much.

Closes to the body I wear a close-fitting white smock. Over that a sleeveless kirtle in blue , laced in the back. To the kirtle sleeves can be pinned to the shoulder straps. Over the Kirtle is a gown in red and yellow laced. The gown can be pinned up at the back.

Over the hair I wear a caul.

Two partlets are worn to the dress, one white in linen and one black in wool. At warm weather I do not wear the partlets and the loos sleeves.
