~ Working woman's dress ~

       ,

This was my first renaissance costume, I found a description how to make this costume on the Internet, but now I cannot find it again.

This working women dress is inspired of some different paintings, to mention some of the paintings 'A Kitchen Scene' by Pieter Cornelisz van Ryck, 'Making Waffles' by Joachim de Beuckalaer and 'The Fruit Seller' by Vincenzo Campi. http://www.lepg.org/gallery.htm

This dress is made of wool and linen. The smock is close fitting and with a low square neck and tube-like sleeves. Over the smock I wear a petticoat bodice in blue linen. A bodice in red or blue belongs to this costume and the skirt is in plum lilac, all in wool. The apron is also in wool and lighter plum lilac.
